The beach is very quiet and relaxing in Ahangama , which offers safe bathing and number of opportunities for water sports. It is a fishing area where you can find many fishing boats parked
on the sand and on the sea.
MadolDuwa and surrounded mangoves


An island surrounded by mangroves on the Koggala Lagoon which inspired arguably Sri Lanka's best ever folk writer. Madol Duwa is the title of a movie which was first screened in 1976 which told the story of a young boy and how he faced the travails of his childhood escaping to this island with his best friend. The movie is based on the book of the same title by Martin Wickremasinghe a native of Koggala who was inspired by its natural beauty and charm.

Koggala lagoon
A number of waterways are connected to the Koggala lagoon although its main freshwater source is the Koggala Oya. The lagoon is forested with mangroves and terrestrial shrubs,



Martin Wickramasinghe Museum
The house in which Martin Wickramasinghe was born has been converted by the Martin Wickramasinghe Trust into a Folk Museum Complex, The museum is located on the family estate and the original eco system of the early 20th century has been restored with hundreds of varieties of indigenous trees and shrubs in which bird life abounds. The house and the surroundings bring to life a little part of Koggala which is so vividly depicted in Wickramasinghe's writings.







Unawatuna & Roomassala

Unawatuna is one of the best beach resorts in Sri Lanka and the most popular beach town in the South. Unawatuna doesn’t offer the same opportunities for surfing or diving as other parts of the coast but the waves are good for swimming and the sands are clean and white.

Historical mountain Roomassala stands majestically in the vicinity of Galle harbour along Galle- Matara road. The pagoda built recently by a Japanese Buddhist glistens in the morning sun. The mountain violates the continuity of the southern coastal belt. Many devotees, Hindus and other tourists throng this mountain to discover its mysteries and fantasies derived from the epic of Ramayana by Valmiki

Roomassala Coral reef is a world famous attractionto get magnificent and colourfull marine life experience. You can take a tour on a glass bottomed boat to explore the coral reefs.

Galle – the capital city of south
Galle is just 15 minutes drive from the Bungalow and if offers many attractions in additions to serve as a shopping city. Boasting of a proud history that goes back 100 of years to the period when the country was occupied by foreign rule, This city with its rich history still maintains the old world charm and romance with its legendry Dutch Fort built in 1663 which is situated in 36 hectares of land.
The Fort now a UNESCO declared World Heritage Site; with its stunning view of the ocean is a most enjoyable and nostalgic place to visit. Galle also offers other attractions like the coral reefs,golden beaches, tropical rain forests, archeologically interesting buildings
